Random Ramblings by Scott.

Well, a great deal of time has passed!  It tends to do that though, if you don't keep a close eye on it.  Rather than spend a lot of time going over all the details, I'll just hit the major points to bring everyone up to date!

Wedding went great and I'm currently loving married life.  Our relationship itself isn't much different at all, but I really like just knowing that we are now Husband and Wife.  Something about that alone is very nice to have and to think about. Sarah has taken some time off work in favor of projects at home, although she'll start looking for Theatre related part-time stuff soon.  I've had to work very hard to not feel spoiled, and take anything for granted.  She's gotten so much stuff done around the house that I barely know what to do with myself.  Everything is taken care of long before I get there.  It's amazing how hard she works at it, and although I still feel bad that I'm not doing much, it IS really nice having everything taken care of like she does. Holy cow, I'm going to be married in two weeks!  Wait, less than two weeks!  Woah!

I think I'm getting nervous.  It's funny too, because I'm not nervous about being married, or the wedding itself, nor about the enormity of the whole thing.  No, the only thing I'm nervous about is that somehow something will go wrong in the wedding that's out of our control or (worse) that I cause, that will disappoint Sarah.

I was thinking about this today.  It's funny how things are like that a lot for me actually.  Usually if there's anything I worry about, it's doing something that would disappoint and/or upset Sarah.  I suppose I'm that way with others as well, I don't like to disappoint or hurt anyone, but it seems most prominent with Sarah.  This would make sense, given that she's such a huge part of my life, but I found it somewhat ironic in the scope of the wedding.

It's also funny how many people around me make (mostly) joking negative comments when they find out I'm about to be married.  They all...

Well, another terribly early morning sitting in the airport.

You get kind of used to it.  This particular morning I am making the trip home from Brookfield, MO, yet again.  Final time there, unless they want extra training, and I'm happy to leave feeling that they are in good shape.  We were even able to wrap up one day early, which was great, since it meant I can come home early.  So I moved my flight up to 6:00 AM.

Unfortunately, this particular locale also happens to be 2.5 hours away from the airport.  Which means that for a 6:00 AM flight, I need to be up around 2:00 AM.  Now, a normal person might compensate for this by going to be early, but I don't fare so well at this.  I was proud just being able to shut my eyes at 11:00 PM, which will make for a very weary first day back.

Anyways, the drive and check in are uneventful, though surprisingly busy for being so early.  I guess that comes from it being a holiday weekend, or at least the weekend before a holiday.

The best part,...

Ahhhh, home.

It's nice to be home.  Had a very uninteresting flight back this past Friday, other than the fact that it was substantially earlier than I had originally planned.  Since Sarah was feeling down, I'd planned to do a few nice things for her this weekend.  So I dug back through her blog and found her old post about things for her Birthday.  Using that I ordered some things from Sephora and Numi Tea's for her.  Then I got the early flight (Had to get up at 2:00 AM to head down there!  Ugh) and came home so I could do the grocery shopping and clean the house.

Unfortunately, I'm kinda slow at cleaning the house, so I'd only finished a few rooms before Sarah made it home.  Plus, the stuff I ordered didn't come until Monday, and our weekend was rained out so I didn't get to prepare the picnic for Sarah on Saturday.

However Sarah saved the day!  She helped finish the cleaning with me, and made the picnic into a basement picnic with a movie.  And she still liked the stuff, even if it came...

Ha ha!  Finished!

Wrapped up at the client a little earlier this evening.  Things ended on a solid note, we got a lot of training done and it seemed like it was clicking a little bit more.  Really, most every one but the main guy seems to be getting it pretty solidly.  Hopefully with some pratice he'll feel solid on it too though!

Now comes the down time.  I'm done for the week, tomorrow will be spent flying back, so I'm relegated to just sitting around and waiting to leave tomorrow.  There are a few work related things that I can take care of, but nothing that will consume me all night, so it's bound to be rather dull.  Luckily I just picked up a new Dean Koontz book, "The Good Guy", so I can finish that off and watch a little TV while packing.

Sarah is feeling a bit down.  Hopefully going out with a few friends this afternoon will cheer her up, but if not I'm planning a few things this weekend and early next week that should make her feel better.  And if Sarah happens to be reading this......
